RJ Lee Group, Inc. is currently seeking a Technician/Analyst to support the analytical functions of our X-ray Diffraction Department. The X-ray Diffraction laboratory has a main focus on analyzing samples by powder x-ray diffraction, as well as supporting analytical techniques such as XRF, TGA/DSC and BET.
Job Responsibilities: The technician/analyst will be involved in every aspect of operation of the X-Ray Diffraction Lab, including but not limited to sample preparation, sample analysis, method development, data quality review, maintaining instrumentation, etc. Major responsibilities will include the preparation of a variety of samples and matrices and operation of laboratory equipment and instrumentation. The technician/analyst could also assist in other areas of the Analytical Services Group that consists of the inorganic and organic chemistry labs. The technician/analyst could work in any of these labs either in a rotating or concurrent basis based on qualifications and lab needs. Candidates with no previous lab experience will start at the Technician I level working mainly with sample preparation.

Qualifications and Requirements:
- BS degree in Chemistry or related field
- Experience with digestion and sample preparation techniques such as acid based digestions, borate fusions, sedimentation separation preferred
- Experience with operating and analyzing data by powder X-ray diffraction, X-ray fluorescence, TGA/DSC, pycnometer and/or BET will be a plus
- Strong MS Office applications experience
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Must have good organizational skills and ability to efficiently perform multiple tasks
- Previous experience working at a commercial laboratory using different characterization techniques will be preferable but not required
